MONTHLY MEETINGS

We meet one Thursday every month to discuss plans for the club, upcoming events, listen to seminar speakers, participate in workshops, and engage with fellow members.

WASHINGTON D.C. TRIP

We will visit Capitol Hill annually to provide members with the opportunity to see government in action. We will meet with professionals working in science policy as well as congressional representatives.

Public Speaker

SCICOM WORKSHOPS & COMPETITIONS

We will help you develop the skills needed to effectively communicate your research and ideas to a non-technical audience, whether it be members of your community or public officials. We will also host competitions to give members the chance to show off their science communication talents.

STEP GRADUATE CERTIFICATE

Virginia Tech has a new certificate program available for graduate students in Science, Technology, and Engineering Policy developed by our faculty advisor, Dr. Todd Schenk.
